Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and passionate South Indian Cook to join a reputed restaurant, hotel, or catering company overseas. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in preparing authentic South Indian dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer satisfaction.

The candidate should be capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, following recipes consistently, and supporting the kitchen team in daily food preparation and service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare authentic South Indian breakfast items such as Idli, Dosa, Vada, Pongal, Upma, Poori, and Appam.
  • Cook a variety of South Indian meals including Sambar, Rasam, Kurma, Poriyal, Kootu, Kuzhambu, Biryani, and Rice varieties.
  • Prepare chutneys, gravies, curries, and spice mixes according to standard recipes.
  • Ensure food is prepared with consistent taste, quality, and presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen as per food safety standards.
  • Monitor food inventory and report stock shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
  • Properly store ingredients and food items to maintain freshness.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation during busy service hours.
  • Minimize food wastage through proper planning and portion control.
  • Assist in menu planning and introduce new South Indian dishes when required.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of authentic South Indian cuisine.
  • Experience in preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain consistency in food quality.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School education preferred.
  • Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts is an advantage.
  • Food Safety or Hygiene Certification is an added benefit.

Experience

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a South Indian Cook in a restaurant, hotel, catering service, or cloud kitchen.
  • Overseas experience is preferred but not mandatory.
